ZUBILLAGA DESIGN, INC. is a family-owned Architectural company, founded in Miami in 1990. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive services in the fields of Architecture and Design with an emphasis in residential projects. Our main objective is to achieve a high degree of design quality and to provide our clients with the best possible professional service on a one to one basis.
ZUBILLAGA DESIGN, INC. is made up of a staff of highly qualified architects. Every project is conceived and developed by our two Principals along with our clients, engaging in productive conversations that make every project unique. Our creative team of Architects then works closely with collaborating Engineers and construction professionals generating relationships of trust and long-term empathy with our clients.
MARTA ZUBILLAGA
ARCHITECT
Marta Zubillaga, having had the opportunity to travel and live in several countries, has earned her cosmopolitan perspective and vision.
A graduate of Architecture from UNIVERSIDAD ANAHUAC OF Mexico City in 1985, she established her architectural career in Miami in 1993, joining brother/partner in ZUBILLAGA DESIGN, INC.
Since then, she has developed most of her professional experience in luxury residential projects in Miami.
She has also designed several projects for private islands in the Bahamas and collaborated with Golf Pro Greg Norman and his Design group in some of his residential and Club House design.
A passion for open spaces and nature, proportion, as well as functionality, define her spaces.
The use of natural light and warm materials like wood and local stones are constant throughout her projects and the belief that Architecture is an expression of Art that should evoke our emotions.
Juan Zubillaga, AIA
ARCHITECT
Mr. Zubillaga is a graduate of the famed Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and a Master’s Degree from Columbia University in New York City. His professional career started in New York in the 1980’s, working for Philip Birnbaum & Associates (later Costas Kondylis Architects), a firm specializing in Luxury Residential Condominiums, such as towers like Trump Plaza and The Savoy. In 1990, he relocated to Miami where he created Zubillaga Design Inc. with the emphasis in Luxury Single Family Residences. In 1993, his sister Marta also relocated to Miami to become a partner in Zubillaga Design. Since then they have designed over 60 hi-end residences which have been built in South Florida, where Zubillaga Design has left an undeniable footprint in that particular market. Member of the A.I.A. and has also served in the City of Miami Architectural Review Board. He collaborated with other Architectural firms in a variety of other projects. Currently, his objective is to continuously improve the level of service and the quality of Zubillaga Design projects.
